Saturday's show is going to be a bit different than a "normal" Unsent show. We have a 55 min block during lunch (1:15-2:10). It will be in a conference room with approx 80-100 attendees. (Note lunch begins 15 mins before our show so we're hopeful this is not distracting. Please help yourself to the free lunch obviously ;))
Clint from Newstory at LA Times will bring myself and Hanna out for a brief interview to kick off the show, then we will bring you all up in the following order at approximately 1:20pm - Tamika, Elina and Kamali. After you each share your messages (please keep to 5 mins max). We will sit with you 3 and ask a few questions about how this process may have impacted you. We're curious about what (if anything) may have changed or shifted for you after sharing.
We'll also open it up for questions from the audience. There will be a mic on a mic stand for your reading, and then we'll sit with you all on stage and pass the mic for the 10 min interview portion. Then you are done! After this, we will have the audience engage in a writing exercise and open it up for sharing with the larger group...we will see how it all goes!
Note - we're experimenting with/considering bringing Unsent into various new spaces, including campuses and workplaces, to see if an increase in empathy using this pathway may result in a more positive experience in the public group settings we find ourselves in. Of course we're deeply interested to know how you've been personally impacted by sharing at Unsent, if at all, and if so, how so...No need to script it or plan it, we can go with the flow here, but wanted you to have a bit more insight into our process.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns at all. You know we are here.
